FACE AND NECK LIFTS WITH
THREADS
|
The procedure to lift selected parts of the
face with subcutaneous sutures is not new. I
t was first published in 1956 and then in
1970 the Frenchman Rene Guillemain called
The Curl Lift. In the 1980’s Marlen
Sulamanidse, a Russian surgeon designed the
first cogged threads especially for the
purpose of lifting and called it Aptos from
Anti-Ptosis. His work was first published in
1994.
Serdev’s Suture Suspension SMAS Lift was
introduced in 1994. It is a two points
anchoring traction and immobilization
technique lift that’s much superior to all
other thread lifts. It uses regular
inexpensive non-absorbable sutures and can
be performed in an office setting under
tumescent local anesthesia. The aim is to
tighten the subcutaneous tissues including
the SMAS (Superficial MusculoAponeurotic
System) as well as the overlying skin.
Serdev’s Suture Suspension SMAS Lift has the
advantage of lifting, repositioning and
fixing of the ptotic parts of the face,
neck, chin, nose tip, buttocks, inner thighs
and abdominal wall to a stable tissue
without visible scar, with minimal morbidity
and rare complications. |
