Intradermotherapy or Mesotherapie (pronounced Mezo therapy) is the practice of using microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medications delivered into target tissues to achieve a corrective treatment to a specific area of the body. The technique was pioneered in France by Dr. Michel Pistor, and has been performed there since 1952. But it's just begun to attract practitioners and clients in the United States in the past few years. Since 1952, approximately 15,000 doctors around the world have been using Mesotherapie in their daily practice. Mesotherapy is generally considered a safe procedure and requires no anesthesia. It is by far the most successful of all current treatments for body sculpting, cellulite improvement, skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. Depending on the treatment modalities, mesotherapy treatments may take from 10 - 30 minutes. The injections are administered with a very small, fine needle either manually or with a mechanical delivery system. Patients have minimal side effects and may return to their normal activities post treatment with limited post care instructions. Mesotherapy should not be considered a weight loss program in the aesthetics field.
